SENATE MOURNS LATE SENATOR ADELEKE
The Senate on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 resumed plenary sitting after a week Easter break with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki presiding over the session. As usual, the votes and proceedings of the previous sitting were adopted and approved by the Chamber.

Thereafter, the Senate Majority Leader, Ahmad Lawan announced the passing on of Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke at the age of 62. Until his death, he represented Osun West Senatorial District in the Upper Legislative Chamber on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) from 2015 to the date of his death. He died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 and has been buried according to Islamic rite.

Accordingly, the Senate observed a minute silence in his honour and prayed for the repose of his soul. Consequently, the Chamber deferred all items on the day’s Order Paper to another legislative date to mourn the deceased.
A Condolence Register has been opened for the Late Adeleke at the Lobby of the National Assembly.
